The Supreme Court of India, one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, has announced a recruitment notification for the year 2024. Applications are invited for the positions of Court Master (Shorthand), Senior Personal Assistant, and Personal Assistant. Court Master (Shorthand):

Role:

The Court Master will be responsible for attending court proceedings, recording shorthand notes, preparing legal documents, and performing administrative tasks. A high level of accuracy and speed in shorthand is required, along with a deep understanding of legal terminology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Record proceedings in shorthand during court hearings.

Prepare legal documents, judgments, and orders.

Senior Personal Assistant:

Role:

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for the positions of Court Master, Senior Personal Assistant, or Personal Assistant, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Age Limit:

Court Master (Shorthand): 30 to 45 years.

Senior Personal Assistant: 18 to 30 years.

Personal Assistant: 18 to 30 years.

 

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be given as per Government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates. There is no upper age limit for candidates working in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.

 

Educational Qualifications:

Court Master (Shorthand): A Degree in Law from a recognized university.

Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant: A Degree from a recognized university.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Court Master (Shorthand):

Shorthand speed of 120 words per minute.

Typing speed of 40 words per minute on the computer.

Minimum 5 years of regular service in a similar role (Private Secretary, Senior PA, or Senior Stenographer in Government/Public Sector).

  • Senior Personal Assistant:

Shorthand speed of 110 words per minute.

Typing speed of 40 words per minute on the computer.

  • Personal Assistant:

Shorthand speed of 100 words per minute.

Typing speed of 40 words per minute on the computer.

 

Physical Requirements:

There are no specific physical requirements mentioned for these roles, but candidates should ensure they meet the general health standards.

 

Salary/Pay Scale:

The selected candidates will be paid as per the following pay scales:

  • Court Master (Shorthand): Level 11 with an initial basic pay of ₹67,700.
  • Senior Personal Assistant: Level 8 with an initial basic pay of ₹47,600.
  • Personal Assistant: Level 7 with an initial basic pay of ₹44,900.

These pay scales are in accordance with the pay matrix provided by the Government of India and come with additional allowances and benefits as per the rules.

2.     Shorthand Test:

Court Master: 120 wpm

Senior Personal Assistant: 110 wpm

Personal Assistant: 100 wpm

Transcription will be given a time limit (45 minutes).

3.     Written Test:

Objective-type questions on General English, General Knowledge, Law (for Court Master), General Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge.

4.     Interview:

Only candidates who pass the written and shorthand tests will be called for an interview.

The final selection will be based on performance in all stages of the selection process.
