Eligibility:

To be eligible for the position of Patna High Court Translator, you must meet the following criteria:

You should have completed your graduation (Bachelors Degree) from a recognized university, with English as one of the subjects.
It is essential to have knowledge of Hindi.
You should have completed a diploma or certificate course in Computer Application from a recognized institution. The course should have a duration of at least six months.
Candidates with a Law Degree will be given preference.
Additionally, preference will also be given to candidates who have knowledge of Urdu, Maithili, or Santhali.

Additional Requirements:

· Character: Candidates must possess the appropriate character for serving in the High Court. The decision of the Appointing Authority is conclusive. Individuals who have been terminated or dismissed by the government or corporations, or convicted of serious crimes (except those punishable by only a fine) are not eligible.

· Marital Status: Men with more than one living wife or women married to a man who already has a wife are not eligible.

· Physical Health: Candidates must be in good mental and physical condition, without any impairments that could hinder their responsibilities.

Age limit:

The age limit for Patna High Court Translator as of 1^st January,2024 is as follows:

UR and EWS (Male) -18 to 37 years

UR and EWS (Female)/EBC/BC -18 to 40 years

SC/ST - 18 to 32 years

OH (locomotor) - 18 to 47 years

Remember, candidates should not be born after 1^ST January 2005.

Salary:

The salary for the Patna High Court Translator is in Level 7 of the pay matrix of the 7^th PRC, ranging from Rs. 44900/- to Rs.142400/-. In addition to this, the translator will also receive the usual allowances as per the Patna High Court Officers and Staff regulations.

Selection Process:

The process for selecting translators for the Patna High Court in 2024 includes three main steps:- a written examination worth 40% of the total marks, a computer proficiency test requiring a minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute in Hindi also worth 40% of the total marks and an interview accounting for 30% of the total marks.

Application fees:

The application fee for the Patna High Court Translator category is Rs.1100/- for UR/BC/EBC/EWS and Rs.550/- for SC/ST/OH.
